The author descibes your voice like its your identification of yourself. He tells us that the voice shouldn't change because of the subject. He talks about breeziness, when you try to write your writing folksly, it is still important write good english. He tells us that we shouldn't be using cliches, and it makes the writing boring and dull. You shouldn't writing things that are too verbose or complicated. The author also tells us to not be scared of imitating other writers.
I agree with the author about the imitation and cliche part, not exactly the way he believe it is true though. I think writers will be influenced then try to imitate it. I think when you keep hearing someones voice, your voice gets influenced by the author, so you get this voice that is similar to book. If you are using too much cliches, it makes the story dull, because there is nothing new. However I don't agree with the author with the voice shouldn't change when you write about anything. Because some types of writing shouldn't contain personal voice in it, like a lab report.
